The Nagorikata orientation meetings were successfully organised in four program districts: Bogura, Sunamganj, Sherpur, and Noakhali. The event brought together over 350 people including 320 Citizen Group (CG) members, 16 Community Volunteers (CVs), 4 Field Coordinators, IP officials, and CPD representatives across the 4 districts. The objectives were to build trust and shared ownership by strengthening community confidence and fostering joint responsibility among stakeholders for successful Nagorikata programme implementation; clearly introduce the programme's goals, approach, activities, and roles of Citizen Groups (CGs) and key actors to ensure alignment; enhance understanding of improving local public services, accessing government resources through CGs, and advancing SDGs like gender equality (SDG 5) and peace, justice, and strong institutions (SDG 16); and promote participatory, community-driven governance as a pathway to achieving sustainable development goals.
